This is for the review course for those who have previously completed the Required Prelicensure Course. Student signing up here will not be required to pay for the review. Do not use this option if you are a new student. If you completed your original course more than a year before the date of the course you are signing up for, there is a tuition fee due of $154.50, one-half of the regular tuition.

Florida’s Community Association Manager (CAM) Prelicensure course includes two days of classes (8am – 5:30pm). The course is taught by Fred Gray, or instructors he has personally trained. Fred literally wrote the book for CAMs more than 20 years ago and he’s been helping thousands attain their license ever since.

Course Description

State and Federal Laws and Governing Documents
This part provides an overview of the community association concept, an explanation of the laws that govern and effect community associations and you will learn how the governing documents work.

Meetings and Procedures of the Association
The community association is a lot like a government. You have to know about membership meetings, voting and election procedures, board meetings and committee meetings. The course also covers the rights and duties of the membership and the board.

Budget and Financial Affairs
The financial operations of the community associations are established in the budget, which covers operating expenses and capital expenditures and deferred maintenance. In addition, we cover financial reporting taxes and employment laws.

Insurance
The course provides instruction in the requirements for insurance as related to association property and unit owner property. Also covered are general liability insurance issues, directors and officers liability insurance, fidelity bonds and more.

General Management
This section covers human resource management topics, maintenance programs, maintenance contracts, maintenance standards, the rights of the association to restrict owner rights and arbitration of disputes. Also covered are special, statutory provisions related to fire safety, elevators, pools, security guards and pest control.

For one year after completing your original course, you are invited to attend class as many times as you feel necessary throughout the year or you can choose to not attend class to do home study.
