What is the licensure Procedure?
You can apply using the online services located at:

Here’s some information to be aware of:
- AGE: You must be at least 18 years of age.
- PRE-LICENSURE EDUCATION: Submit a Prelicensure Education Certificate from an approved provider consisting of at least 16 hours of pre-licensure education.

Where are the classes held?
Do I have to take the class through Zoom?

In-person classroom hours of instruction means that required hours must be in person or from interactive, real-time courses. An interactive, real-time course may be a web-based, satellite-transmitted, telephone or video conference, or online instruction program that allows or requires the applicant to interact in real-time, including live chat, with the instructor during the presentation of the program or in a question and answer session upon completion of the program.
How do I apply for the License?
You can apply online at www.myfloridalicense.com. Register by
choosing a username, password, and providing your social security number. If you have already
registered, proceed to the CAM Application.
Where can I get my fingerprints taken?
PearsonVue, the testing center, offers fingerprinting services. Additional information can be found at
“Test Taker Services.” The state also suggests a variety of other locations in their “Community
Association Manager Candidate Information Booklet.” This publication is available at www.myfloridaliceense.com.
When do i take the exam?
When the state has competed the application processing your application, fingerprint check and your GSI Exam Preparation Course certificate, you will be contacted by the testing company, PearsonVUE. You set up your own date and time with PearsonVUE and will be tested at a site of your choice on a computer.
What's included in the course?

You will be receiving the Prelicensure book along with 2 handouts, a highlighter and pencil prior to class.
We also provide you with the Florida CAM State exam online review course. This online course is an additional study guide that will help you prepare for the state exam.
You can also come back to our Zoom class course as many times as you need to within the 12 months from your initial class, as a refresher.

Who must take continuing education?
All community association manager licensees must satisfactorily complete a minimum of 15 hours
of continuing education per biennial licensure renewal cycle. Each hour shall consist of 50 minutes
of student involvement in approved classroom, correspondence, interactive, distance education or
internet courses. No license shall be renewed unless the licensee has completed the required
continuing education.
Exception: Effective July 1, 2024, if you are an active CAM and held a license for ten years or more,
and have not disciplinary action filed against the license, you may be exempt from the continuing
education requirements. Check your records at the license portal with the DBPR. (www.my
floridalicense.com.)
Are the course topics specified?
Yes, the required 15 hours of continuing education shall be comprised of courses approved
pursuant to Rule 61E14-4.003, F.A.C., in the following areas:
(a) 3 hours of legal update seminars. The legal update seminars shall consist of instruction
regarding changes to Chapters 455, 468, Part VIII, 617, 718, 719, 720, and 721, F.S., and other
legislation, case law, and regulations impacting community association management. Licensees
shall not be awarded continuing education credit for completing the same legal update seminar
more than once even if the seminars were taken during different years.
(b) 3 hours of instruction on insurance and financial management topics relating to community
association management.
(c) 3 hours of instruction on the operation of the community association’s physical property.
(d) 3 hours of instruction on human resources topics relating to community association
management. Human resources topics include, but are not limited to, disaster preparedness,
employee relations, and communications skills for effectively dealing with residents and vendors.
(e) 3 hours of additional instruction in any area described in paragraph (3)(b), (c) or (d) of this rule
or in any course or courses directly related to the management or administration of community
associations. or any course or courses directly related to community association management
services to homeowner associations including recordkeeping.

You must establish your online enrollment and supply them with a username and password; thereafter you can get in to do such things as view your continuing education credits, pay your license fee, and change your address or other information.
To check on your REQUIRED/COMPLETED/SHORTFALL credits:
log into your DBPR profile: www.myfloridalicense.com
• Click “MY ACCOUNT”
• Log on with Username/Password
• Click your license number under “Licenses linked to my online account”
• Click “View My Continuing Education“
If there is a shortfall of hours 72 hours AFTER you have successfully completed all hours of education with Gray Systems. Please give us a call or email us and we will get it fixed Immediately.
If there is NO shortfall, then you will need to wait until the DBPR sends your renewal notices out via email to make your online payment to renew your license through the next renewal cycle.
From there you will be able to access your account anytime to check on continuing education or pay your fees and update your address, etc.

When do I have to renew my license?
- All electrical ECLB contractors have to renew the license by August 31st of even numbered years.
- All certified CILB contractors have to renew the license by August 31, of even numbered years.
- All registered CILB contractors have to renew the license by August 31, of odd numbered years
What are the continuing education requirements for home inspectors?
Each person who is a Home Inspector by the Board must, as a condition of each renewal of the certificate or registration, provide proof of completion of at least 14 hours of continuing education in one or more courses approved by the Board.
A person who holds more than one certificate or registration issued by the Board is required to complete the continuing education requirements only once during each biennial period. Proof of completion by any such person must be submitted with each renewal application.
The statutes and Rules that govern the home inspector profession is: Chapter 468 Part XV of the Florida Statutes and Rule 61-30 of the Florida Administrative Code.
